Science Quiz Friday, September 14th

Our first science quiz will be this Friday, September 14th and will include material you have learned in class since the first day of school. Topics include: Lab Safety, Metric Measurement, and Scientific Method. Extra help is available during your lunch period on Thursday, September 13th. 

General Study Guide: 

1. Lab Safety
Examples:

-Protecting your eyes, skin, hair, clothing
-Always follow teacher instructions during labs and only do approved experiments
-Let your teacher know about safety concerns  

2. Metric Measurement Skills
Examples:

-Be ready to use a metric ruler to determine the length of an object or line, or accurately create one to a specific length
-Be ready to convert from cm to mm, or mm to cm
Remember: to convert from cm to mm, multiply the cm length by ten
                       to convert from mm to cm, divide the mm length by ten 

3. Scientific Method
Examples:

-Study the steps of Scientific Method, in the correct order
-Know the vocabulary words related to Scientific Method:
Conclusion, Analyze, Procedure, Hypothesis (if, then, because…), Problem,
Constant/Control, Independent Variable, Dependent Variable
